Stud detection with a proper multi-scanner (not a magnet), cable routes cut and chased where needed, power spur added by our part-P route if required.

Bracket fixed with the correct fixings for your wall | resin-anchored if the substrate is soft, cavity-fixed for stud walls, hammer-fixed into solid brick.

Cables hidden
HDMI, power and aerial cables run inside the wall (or in slim colour-matched conduit) to a neat brush-plate. No cables visible when the TV is on the bracket.

Get a straight-talking quoteWall types and the right fixings for each
Solid brick or block: the easiest and most secure. High-quality frame fixings or through-bolts, straight into the wall. A 65" TV is a non-issue on a solid wall.
Dot-and-dab plasterboard: the trap. There's a 10–25mm air gap behind the board with dabs of adhesive at random intervals. Standard fixings tighten into nothing. We use deep frame fixings or bond directly into a dab, with load spread across multiple points.
Metal or timber stud wall: bracket must land on studs, not plasterboard between them. If studs don't align with bracket holes, we fit a solid backing plate first.
Chimney breast: check first for a flue liner (open fires below), lath-and-plaster behind the render, and old air-brick openings. Sometimes needs a spreader plate.
Media wall / stud + MDF fascia: planned before the fascia goes on, with in-wall power and HDMI runs and a bracket noggin built into the frame.
Bracket types and when each is right
Flat / slim: TV sits close to the wall. Best when viewing angle is head-on and you want the tidiest look. Modern LED TVs are thin enough that a flat mount looks flush.
Tilt: small downward tilt (up to ~15°). Ideal for TVs mounted above a fireplace or high on a bedroom wall, reduces neck strain and glare.
Full-motion (articulated arm): pulls out from the wall and swivels. Best for open-plan rooms where you view from more than one seating position, or corner installs.
Pull-down over-fireplace: specialist bracket that lowers the TV to comfortable eye-line for viewing and returns it above the mantel when off. Big spend but transformative for period homes.
Hiding the cables, what's involved
In-wall on a stud wall: usually straightforward. Cut two brush-plates (one behind the TV, one below the TV cabinet), fish HDMI/coax through the void. No chasing, no plaster.
In-wall on a solid wall: we chase a vertical channel, drop the cables in, and re-plaster. Best co-ordinated with a decorator or before repainting.
Slim conduit: a good compromise where you don't want the mess of chasing. Colour-matched trunking, hardly noticeable once painted-in.
Adding a power outlet behind the TV: we can spur a new socket off an existing ring, so no visible mains flex is running down the wall.
Above a fireplace, what to think about
Height is the biggest issue: TVs mounted high force you to look up, which is genuinely uncomfortable for a long viewing session. Where possible we recommend a slight downward tilt bracket or (if the mantel allows) a pull-down bracket that lowers the TV to seated eye-line while in use.
Heat isn't usually a problem with modern gas or wood-burners, but we'll always check clearances against the TV manufacturer's spec before mounting.

How much does TV wall mounting cost?

How long does it take?

A straightforward flat-mount on a solid wall with visible cabling is 45–60 minutes. A full in-wall cable hide with a new power spur on a stud wall is 2–3 hours. We'll tell you on the phone before booking.
Can you mount a TV on plasterboard?

Yes, we do it constantly. The trick is using the right fixings for the substrate behind the board (stud, dot-and-dab void, timber batten) and spreading the load across enough fixing points. We check before we drill.
Can you hide the cables in the wall?

Yes, on stud walls it's straightforward with brush-plates; on solid walls we chase a channel and re-plaster. Where in-wall isn't possible we fit slim colour-matched trunking so you can paint over it.
Can you fit a new plug socket behind the TV?

Yes, we can spur a new outlet off your existing ring so there's no visible mains flex. Where a full new circuit is needed we co-ordinate with a Part-P electrician.
Do you supply the bracket or do I buy it?

Either. We can supply and fit a bracket sized to your TV, or fit a bracket you've already bought. Just tell us the TV brand, screen size and VESA pattern when you call.
Can you mount above a fireplace?

Yes, we do it weekly. We'll advise on tilt brackets or pull-down brackets to keep viewing comfortable, and check heat clearances against your TV spec.
Do you mount very large TVs (75"+)?

Yes, up to 98". Larger TVs need heavy-duty brackets and, on stud walls, often a full-width backing plate. Included in the quote.
